The Chili Cook-Off
The chili cook-of is an annual fundraising event that includes sponsors; volunteer cooks; a pie auction; gun raffle; and live music and dancing.
What to Expect
The biggest social event of the year, the Chili Cook-Off takes place at the end of January, once winter has kicked in. Companies sponsor a spot and volunteer cooks present their best chili recipes for everyone to sample. The winner of the best chili is the people's choice, as each taster gets to make several votes for their favorites.
Following the chili tasting, a pie auction takes place, along with any other special items donated to The Recluse Trust for that purpose. Leading up to the event, gun raffle tickets are sold and the drawing takes place at the Cook-Off. With food and fundraising taken care of, the live band strikes up and you're welcomed to dance the night away.
Gun Raffle Tickets
Each year a brand new rifle is chosen and bought by The Recluse Trust, then raffled off as a fundraiser. The 2023 Rifle being raffled is:
- Tikka 243 with Vortex 12-40, Dead Hold BDC scope. Adjustable trigger down to 2lb
- Includes 1 year warranty through Sportsman Warehouse
Raffle tickets are available months before the drawing. You can buy tickets from the Recluse Trust Members or find them at these locations:

Each ticket is $10, with no limit to how many you can purchase (only 300 available). The final raffle drawing takes place at the Chili Cook-Off event, but you don't have to be present to win. You will need to pass a background check to receive the rifle.
